This currently includes the Process Automation and the Reporting, Optimization and Collaboration (ROC) teams and may involve other teams over time. The scrum master is a crucial member of the agile team responsible for implementing and maintaining the Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks. This includes organizing and leading agile ceremonies, removing impediments, promoting collaboration and ensuring adherence to agile principles and values. Primary Duties:
- Serve as scrum master for the Process Automation and the Reporting, Optimization and Collaboration teams. Other teams as assigned.
- Set up and facilitate the Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, sprint planning, triangle meetings, and sprint retrospectives.
- Leverage agile principals and techniques for collaboration, prioritization, and planning.
- Serve as a guide and coach to Agile teams on the principles and practices; helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently.
- Adept at refinement of user story documentation, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques.
- Be responsible for gaining a foundational understanding of the assigned teams' systems and processes to aid in identifying impacts, risks, and issues.
- Protect the team from over-committing and scope creep. Aid in estimation and task creation.
- Ensure the team works collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality products.
- Identify and troubleshoot impediments that are hindering the team's progress. The goal is to remove the impediment.
- Work closely with the product owner(s) and business analyst(s) to prioritize the backlog, plan and execute sprints, daily stand-ups and sprint planning/retrospectives.
- Focus on learning and gaining greater working knowledge of effective Agile and Scrum practices, tools, and procedures and be open to feedback from teams and their management.
- Perform regular analysis of burndown, performance data, and other portfolio planning tools to understand how the team is progressing, what gets delivered, and the cadence of the team.
- Fosters a high performing team by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
- Complete smaller work assignments with a growing level of independence and collaborate with teams on larger efforts of work following departmental procedures.
- It is essential to understand and empathize with the team's challenges. Support and motivate team members during difficulties while remaining positive and objective.
- Be adaptable and open to change. Adjust to the evolving needs of the team.
- Be responsible to learn assigned IT teams' processes and tools with a growing level of proficiency and embrace feedback for continuous improvement.

- Must be able to travel independently throughout the company and to remote locations as needed.

Job Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, project management or business and/or combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Scrum Master, information technology, project management and/or bank operations experience, or a combination of experience is preferred.
- Experience creating and using agile reporting including burn down charts, velocity, burn up charts and leveraging them to support team performance.
- Proven ability to communicate information clearly and effectively and have good meeting facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to teach and coach others on agile principles and practices with effective outcomes.
- Proven leader and self-starter. Works well independently and in a team environment. Willing to learn new things and adapts well to change. Able to lead Scrum ceremonies.
- Good organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills are required to evaluate situations, make recommendations and take prompt, effective corrective action.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in technical concepts, business applications, basic project management principles including agile practices, and a general understanding of technology.
- Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP.
- Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as TFS, Azure DevOps, or Jira a plus.
