We're on the lookout for an exceptional Software Engineer II to join our team of experts in the field of machine learning and AI. Together, we aim to revolutionize healthcare by making personalized and empathetic care accessible, convenient, and cost-effective. In this role, you will build software initiatives along with a team of software engineers, overseeing the development of infrastructure and components to support machine learning models and AI. Key job responsibilities

- Develop a golden query set for evaluating and validating ML systems.

- Improve an LLM-based dialog system through knowledge engineering, retrieval optimization, and advanced prompt engineering.

- Optimize link coverage and contextual relevance to enhance downstream impact.

- Establish guardrails for LLM-based systems to ensure safety and model integrity.

- Analyze customer engagement, identify root causes, implement solutions, conduct validations, and deploy improvements to production.

- Collaborate with senior scientists to execute the above responsibilities.

About the team

We are the Health AI team at HST (Health Store and Technology). The team consists of highly skilled software engineers and exceptional ML Scientists with diverse background in healthcare, robotics, customer analytics, and communication. We are committed to building and deploying the most advanced scientific capabilities and solutions for the products and services at Amazon Health.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
