MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in applicable field
* High School Diploma or equivalent (copy required upon hire)
* Yearly Physical (required within 1 month of hire)
* Valid NYS Driver's License (copy required upon hire)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Four or more years of experience in commerical or residential carpentry
* Completion of a formal carpenter's apprenticeship or training program
* Good Communication and Organizational Skills
* Experience working with adolescents

* Multi-State Sex Offender Registry (SOR)
* NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) fingerprinting
* NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List (SEL)
* NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List
* Out-of-state child abuse register inquiry of any state in which the person resided within the last five years (if applicable)
* NYS License Event Notification Service (LENS)
* Office of Inspector General (OIG)
* Must successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
HOURS
* Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
* Must be flexible to meet the needs of the program
STARTING WAGE: $22.00/hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Be able to handle all the physical responsibilities of the position, which include but are not limited to lifting, moving, and prolonged periods of standing, ability to climb ladders, access equipment located in basements and crawlspaces, ability to work off ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces.
OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
* Performs routine carpentry work in the construction and/or maintenance of buildings, walls, ceilings, doors, roofs, cabinets, and wooden structures to meet building codes
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Builds, remodels, and maintains various types of facilities, buildings, offices, classrooms, restrooms, and other structures
* Installs, builds and repairs internal and external strutures
* Makes, installs, and repairs cabinets, counters, shelves, benches, floors, and door and window frames
* Installs and repairs drywall, and ceiling and floor tiles
* Ensures work performed is completed in a manner conforming with plans, specifications, and building code and safety requirements
* Properly use equipment, material, and tools in a safe and professional manner
* Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor

About The William George Agency for Children's Services
The William George Agency for Children's Services is located on a 650-acre campus nine miles northeast of Ithaca, in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. It is a private not-for-profit residential treatment center licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) that serves both male and female youth between the ages of 12 and 21, and their families, who present with significant mental health issues, behavioral difficulties, and substance abuse issues. Our programs offer an array of treatment modalities specifically designed to meet the needs of our youth.
