Salary: $25.00 HourlyLocation : Wheaton, ILJob Type: SeasonalJob Number: 24-00112Department: Division of TransportationOpening Date: 10/30/2024Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with variable on-call hours of overtime including evenings, nights, weekends, and Holidays, are a position requirementPOSITION SUMMARY We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Seasonal Laborer/Snowplow Driver within the DuPage County Division of Transportation. We currently have three (3) vacant positions open at this time that will support the 2024 -2025 Winter Snow season. This position will be temporary until March 31, 2025. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include:
  • Snowplowing and snow removal activities
  • Washing County Vehicles
  • Work zone flagging
  • Labor duties for construction crews such as pothole patching, tree trimming, brush chipping, mailbox repair
  • Additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A or B with Air Brake endorsement
The preferred candidate will have:
  • Experience operating a six wheel snowplow
A post offer drug screen is required.A post-offer physical is required.A pre-employment background check is required.
