We are hiring for the following part-time seasonal positions for Recreation and Community Services: Scorekeepers - $16.00hr. Guest/Facility Asst - $16.00/hr. Examples of Essential Functions Our Recreation part-time seasonal staff work at various parks and community locations and events in the City of Vista. There are other opportunities as well throughout the year. Positions currently available are:Scorekeepers - We need scorekeepers for adult softball and youth basketball. Guest/Facility Assistants - We need building staff to assistant with bookings and rentals such as birthday parties, weddings, and other events. Minimum QualificationsIdeal Candidates: > Must be at least 16 years of age > Be enthusiastic > Be honest and reliable > Be hard working > Be a team player and guest service focused > Pass a drug screening and background check > Should have reliable transportation to work > Must want to have fun! The employee must be able to work either in an indoor office environment or outdoors in the field environment (depending on position); Protective clothing and sunscreen will often be needed for extended periods of outdoor work. The employee may have to move up to 50 lbs. and transport up to 20 lbs. objects frequently (depending on position). Vision abilities required by this job include the ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, estimate, and assess work related objects and/or work products based on position specific designated tasks. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; assignments including early mornings, weekends, holidays, special events and split shifts. Employees must also wear standard work apparel as prescribed by the Parks and Community Services Department. A pre-employment drug test and live scan fingerprint (background check), paid by the City, will be required. Please note these positions are open until filled, so it is in your best interest to apply immediately. WORKERS' COMPENSATION The City provides Workers' Compensation Insurance to all employees.
