Job DetailsJob LocationStevens Coolidge Place - North Andover, MAPosition TypeSeasonalDescriptionLong Hill, a scenic public garden located in Beverly, is currently hiring a team of part-time Visitor Services Associates for our annual Halloween on the Hill event. This incredible property will transform for the month of October with carved Jack-o'-lanterns, lights, and other Halloween installations to create a unique experience for visitors of all ages. Visitor Services Associates work to further the mission of The Trustees and preserve our special places by providing superior service during this annual event during the months of September and October. Essential Functions:
- Oversee check-in and ticket admission of the event while helping to maintain the overall visitor experience.
- Assist with overall event preparation and set-up
- Accurately and efficiently conduct a variety of sales in our pop-up retail shop and concessions area.
- Assist with event parking
- Join training sessions prior to event to have an overview of event and overall trail.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering visitor questions about the event trail, the event, and the property.
Requirements:• Interest in gardens and history• Desire to engage with and serve the public• Attention to Detail and a friendly demeanor• Strong communication skills, dependability, and punctuality• Flexibility to support property operations in a variety of positions• Keep public-facing workstations neat and stocked with relevant materials • Provide flexible availability including evenings and weekends as needed • Represent the property in a professional manner with appropriate attire Qualifications• Background check required• This position typically works a Wednesday-Sunday schedule for the event, with evening shifts and daytime shifts for event set-up.• Able to work well with people in a team environment and to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally• Able to function and act both independently & as a team, plus make decisions & multitask under pressure.• Math skills for handling and counting cash• Able to consistently lift 40lbs & stand for long periods of time (at least 6 hours)Education and Experience:• High School Diploma Required • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of one year of work experience.• Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to applyIn addition to competitive pay, The Trustees offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team across New England who believe in celebrating and protecting our special places, for everyone, forever.
