INTRODUCTIONThis position is responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the setup, maintenance, and operation of the silk screen press to accurately produce the product to customer specifications.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReads work orders to determine the setup specifications and instructionsDetermines screen mesh needed and makes screens accordinglyDetermines the type of ink needed and mixes batches accordingly using scales and formulationsStarts machines and performs trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setupObserves and monitors machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine if adjustments are requiredAssures the image is registered and square then runs samples to adjust and assure print quality and color is in accordance with the spectrophotometer readingsFollow all SOP\u2019s relevant to the jobPerforms routing adjustments during the press run and maintain quality throughout the runMaintains records of daily production informationRemoves and replaces damaged product using hand toolsPerforms daily and monthly maintenance and troubleshootingPerforms other job duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS1-year experience running, troubleshooting, and performing quality control on a press of similar size and complexityAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructionsBasic computer skills for data entryAbility to perform intermediate mathMechanical aptitude is a mustEffective decision-making skillsMust be willing to work overtimeGood attendance is requiredMust be able to perform all essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodationsSmurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
