Job Description:
AMETEK Precitech, Inc., located in Keene, NH, is a manufacturer of ultra precision machine tools used to manufacture the world's most sophisticated precision optics. Precitech is seeking an experienced Precision Grinder Machinist with the ability to set up and operate precision surface grinding machines, to produce finished components to extremely close tolerances. The successful candidate will have prior surface grind or CNC machining experience and be able to read prints and follow work instructions.Position Responsibilities:* Set up and operate surface grinding machines to produce high precision components to exacting specifications.* Operate various other machine tools as assigned.* Regularly interface with product engineering and manufacturing engineering.* Perform special projects with minimum direction using prints or verbal instructions.* Work collaborativly with others, including instructing or training others as requested.* Complete necessary paperwork as required to record volume and production time.* Properly maintain equipment to ensure efficient operation.* Operate safely and follow all safety procedures.* Stand for extended periods of time, reach with both hands and bend as necessary. Frequent lifting up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.Essential Skills and Experience:1. Ability to grind and machine a variety of materials.2. Read and work with prints and detailed specifications, inspection reports in order to machine finished components.3. Experience in determining feed rates and operating speeds.4. Experience in tooling and selecting grinding wheels.5. Ability to use a broad range of measuring instruments, gauges and electronic indicators.6. Experience using computers in a manufacturing enviroment.7. Operate handling equipment ie: pallett jacks, lifting cranes.Education:High school diploma and or advanced technical training, plus 2 or more years equivialent experience in a similar environment.
