Secretary (Adult and Community Programs Customer Service)
Part time, 20 hours per week
Located: Danielson American Job Center
Required qualifications:
Associates Degree plus one year related work experience or a H.S Diploma plus three years of related work experience. (will consider reasonable alternative combination of education and experience)
Ability to thrive within diverse teams and serve people with diverse socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal and written, including de-escalation skills
Experience with Outreach and Marketing activities, such as attending recruitment events
Capacity to complete data-entry tasks utilizing web-based systems, maintain accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environment
Time/Task management and the ability to work independently
Ability to infrequently travel within Eastern Connecticut and occasionally statewide with reliable transportation
Capacity to process invoices, reconcile accounts and manage vendor orders
Preferred Qualifications:
Competency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Design ability utilizing web-based tools such as Canva.com
Competency with Google Suite (drive, docs, sheets, etc)
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
Position responsibilities include:
Welcoming all customers/visitors and engaging with customer inquiries via remote platforms (e.g.; telephone/text, email, video call or web-based chat).
Requires independently handling of any related customer service issues.
Responsible for providing Job center and partner program information
Assisting customers and staff with faxing, filing, registering for workshops coordinating meetings and appointments.
Conducting adult and community programs information sessions
Supporting the set-up of and proctoring of testing (e.g.; CASAS, Pearson Vue, etc).
Ensuring that all front desk operations are carried out in an organized and efficient fashion.
Completing on site virtual service delivery, maintaining virtual database information, and assisting with digital tools.
Other duties as assigned.
