Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate Has the ability to read and follow written directions Has three years of varied and increasingly responsible clerical or secretarial experience Has the ability to type at a skill level of 50 words per minute Has specialized skills in bookkeeping, basic mathematics, filing, telephone, and computer operation Has demonstrated competency for assigned responsibilities and the ability to work under pressure Has the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Has demonstrated ability or potential to relate to and work effectively with students, staff, and community REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be familiar with and follow written statutes, policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive middle school office Prepare and type correspondence for the principal and others Maintain such student records as shall be required Serve as activity fund treasurer Receive and route all incoming calls Serve as receptionist for the principal Maintain a daily teacher attendance log, and records for substitute teachers Monitor time lines that signal school opening, class changing, school closing, etc. Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials as requested and time permits Process all assigned clerical duties assigned by supervising staff members Maintain a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and other meetings Maintain a log of visitors to the school Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
