Vacation, Sick and Holiday pay offered.SECTIONAL CARE LEVEL II - JOB DESCRIPTIONThe sectional department is responsible for the care of plants/maintenance of an area of a production yard.Essential Function:• Pulls weeds, removes suckers, and consolidates stock in their designated area.• Ensures that the irrigation system is properly set up in area and that there is not over or under watering.• Ability to identify any plant health related issues.• Communicates with the inventory staff when consolidating or moving plants. Reports poor plant health and dumps as well.• Communicates with yard manager on daily and weekly tasks.• Safely uses ladders 8-14 feet tall.• Climbs ladders to pound and tie tree stakes.• General care for the nursery grounds, keeping the nursery clean, organized, and safe for employees, customers, and vendors.• General care for nursery stock (plants), ensures plants are watered, handled with care, and are placed in the appropriate location.Additional Tasks:• May assist in other nursery departments as needed.• Duties are subject to change at any time per management's discretion.Job Specifications:Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions on uneven ground surfaces and rainy weather. Extensive walking. Stoop, bending at the waist, twisting, turning, and squatting is required. Climb ladders.Lifting Requirements:Up to 75lbs. 80 percent of the time. Up to 100lbs 10 percent of the time. (Team lifting technique when required.)Hand movement:Gross grasping for moving plant material. Use of hands/fingers to handle/feel.
