Candidates must possess a high school diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or similar equivalency such as a General Education Development (GED) Certification or higher degree.In addition:1. You must be able to communicate and follow oral and written instructions and directions in English in order to perform the duties of the position.2. Your physical and medical condition will be evaluated to ensure that you are able to satisfactorily perform the duties of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. A complete statement of the physical and medical standards is available at: Description As a Secure Care Treatment Aide 1 (SCTA), you would assist in the psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and care and safety of individuals committed under New York State (NYS) Mental Hygiene Law (MHL) Article 10. This may include individuals considered to be manipulative, treatment resistant, and/or dangerous to themselves and/or others. You would participate in active treatment programming and provide a safe, secure, and stable environment within which these patients can be given the intensive care and behavioral interactions needed for rehabilitation and treatment. This position may be physically demanding.
