Job Description:
As a REJIS Information Security Advisor/Senior Information Security Analyst/Engineer, you will play a pivotal role securing REJIS' and our Security Services Customers infrastructure, data and software. You will also assist our agency CISO by contributing to our fast moving, passionate efforts in improving and promoting cybersecurity best practices within our agency and our customer agencies.Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below. Our typical clients are small/medium-sized government entities, law enforcement, municipalities, legal entities and critical infrastructure with significant cybersecurity needs, but typically not quite large enough to hire a full-time security leader or fulltime security team. In this position, you will be an integral part of the REJIS Internal Security Team and SIRT. You will also when needed work in conjunction with our customers internal IT/IT Security resources to mature customer information security programs and develop related deliverables as needed per our security services agreements. RequirementsPassionate about solving customers security challengesSelf-Starter and Highly DrivenHigh personal and professional ethical standardsWell-developed technical writing skillsBroad knowledge of security operations tools, systems, and practicesStrong understanding of Security Risk Assessments, Threat & Vulnerability Management and Remediation ManagementEthical Hacking skills and penetration testing experience a plusCyber Defense/Incident Response skills/experience a plusStrong customer interaction skills including phone, in-person, presentation and writing skillsAbility to break down complex projects into bite-sized pieces and drive tasks to completionCISSP or equivalent knowledge Candidate must have a majority of the following characteristics / skills:6 plus years of cybersecurity experienceQuantitative and analytical work experienceExperience managing security projectsSecurity Tools experience: Vulnerability scanners, Firewalls, WAF's, Antivirus, EDR, IAM, Penetration testing tools a plus Technical or cybersecurity degree a plusDevelopment or scripting experience a plusNetwork architecture, design, security and protocol knowledgeCollaboratively work as a member of a top performing teamMentoring of IT and/or cybersecurity personnel a plusHave been responsible for the cybersecurity of a company or projectAbility to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong project managementExperience at documenting policies, standards, procedures, processesExperience with security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, COBIT, etc.)Experience with compliance / attestation standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, CMMC, etc. CJIS Compliance is a plus) The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutionsAbility to present complex or highly technical issues in simple and easy-to-understand formats EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Marital Status The REJIS Commission has developed an EEOP Utilization Report as required by the United States Department of Justice.
