The 135-room hotel is minutes from Downtown Raleigh, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and District Village.The Aloft Raleigh is currently seeking a Security Officer/Night Auditor. This multifaceted role involves ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property during the night shift, while also assisting with the night audit responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to handle various security-related tasks efficiently.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist with night audit procedures, including reconciling daily transactions, preparing financial reports, and updating guest accounts.
  • Verify the accuracy of room rates, charges, and payments, resolving any discrepancies as they arise.
  • Complete end-of-day tasks such as preparing and distributing daily reports to management and relevant departments.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records related to night audit activities.
  • Patrol the premises regularly to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any suspicious activity or emergencies.
  • Conduct routine inspections of all access points, ensuring they are secure and locked as required.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff inquiries or concerns regarding security matters.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary and assist in the investigation of incidents or disturbances.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to guests, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay.
  • Escort guests to their rooms during late hours or when requested, ensuring their security.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues in a professional and courteous manner, escalating as needed.
  • Act as a first responder in the event of emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or evacuations.
  • Execute emergency procedures according to established protocols, ensuring the safety of guests and staff.
  • Provide assistance and support to emergency services personnel as required.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Additional training or certification in security, law enforcement, or hospitality management is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a security-related role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Previous experience in a night audit position or familiarity with night audit procedures is beneficial.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to detect and respond to potential security threats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using surveillance systems, alarm panels, and other security equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and experience with night audit procedures is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, especially during night shifts.
  • Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
