The Day-to-Day:
The Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring the secure operation of internal computer systems, servers, and network connections. This involves reviewing server and firewall logs, analyzing network traffic, promptly addressing security breaches and vulnerabilities, and conducting user activity audits as needed.
- Develops and enforces policies, procedures, guidelines, and plans for system security management and user access, adhering to industry best practices to protect information systems and prevent unauthorized access or damage.
- Audits end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems, servers, and file shares, documenting findings.
- Monitors network system logs and traffic for any unusual or suspicious activity, investigates and documents all findings, and provides recommendations for resolution.
- Ensures the security of databases and the safe transfer of data, both internally and externally.
- Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments.
Must-Haves:
- A minimum two years of professional experience analyzing and creating documentation related to IT Systems Security, including:
- Email security – Tools such as Proofpoint, Mimecast, etc.
- Microsoft Office 365 (O365)
- Vulnerability management – Rapid 7 or similar
- Firewall – Checkpoint or similar
- Multi-factor Authentication
- Domain Name Server (DNS) – Cloudflare, Akamai, etc.
- Professional experience with Arctic Wolf Outsourced SOC
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cyber-Security, or related field
Nice-to-Haves:
- Security certifications such as: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), CISSP, CISM, CSA, etc.
