Overview Marksman Security Corporation is hiring immediately for a Security Command Center Operator. This position oversees the daily security operations of a 24/7 Central Command Center, safeguarding the assets of the facility, employees and guests. This position will be responsible for monitoring, directing and responding to security and safety issues while ensuring the appropriate response is deployed efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities & QualificationsSecurity Communications Center
- Provides radio system monitoring with event logging and recording.
- Provides alarm monitoring of intrusion detection systems, fire and life safety systems as well as emergency dispatching, incident reporting and analysis for the client's area locations.
- Capabilities for regional and worldwide monitoring exist and may be instituted on an as needed basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess Level II, Noncommissioned security license (via TOPS)
- Strong customer service skills
- Familiarity with report writing
- Monitoring and surveillance experience
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
- One year previous security experience is required!
- Must be able to type 35 wpm
- Must be able to work flexible shifts
- Must pass our pre employment background/drug tests
- Must have at least 2 years of SCC/GSOC experience
Officer responsibilities:
- Learning and maintaining knowledge of the client's policies & procedures (e.g. Post Orders, emergency response, etc.).
- Develop and Maintain thorough working knowledge of building and key personnel information.
- Primary first responder to all security, safety and emergency events and incidents for dispatching from the Communications Center.
- Has knowledge of basic security operations and their applications (access control, security/safety awareness programs, 5-minute response, Intrusion Detection System, etc.)
- Have and maintain a high level, quality customer service and conduct themselves in a professional manner that displays competency, integrity and sincerity.
- Actively search/monitor for safety hazards such as spills, odors, trip hazards, etc. and appropriately dispatch on and report findings.
- Write incident reports for security related incidents and input into the client's database.
- Directs security officers in the performance of their assigned post duties using established guidelines, procedures, and policies for routine operations, emergency response, and special events.
- Conduct Intrusion Detection System (IDS) inspections.
- Assist Fire and Police department personnel in site navigation and site emergency response procedures.
- Be familiar with all emergency response procedures for the facility and assist with building evacuations (drills/actual events).
- Accountable for area supplies including reconciliation of temporary and visitor badges.
- Issue employee temporary and visitor badges and temporary camera badges.
- Direct employees, contractors and visitors to appropriate resources.
- Issue or distribute vehicle decals and other permits as required.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm panels where applicable,
- Good phone and/or radio etiquette.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and maintain composure.
- Must be able to effectively communicate relevant information to all levels of personnel.
- Ability to work overtime if needed and support operations while others are on vacation.
- Maintain equipment in the work area and ensure the area meets clients' cleanliness and organizational standards.
- Submit and track work order tickets for any malfunction.
- Monitors radio traffic, records events, and provides information requested by radio users.
- Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm monitoring software, initiate internal or police response based on defined criteria, accurately capture event information, confirm accuracy of data recorded in the alarm database
