The Security Dispatcher is responsible for the effective and efficient handling of requests for Security assistance for all Tanner facilities and the accurate and concise documentation of security responses. The work is performed in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multi-task and prioritize work is crucial in the accomplishment of work tasks. Work tasks include the processing of emergency and security calls. The job must be performed with the highest regard for professionalism, confidentiality, speed, and accuracy. Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Six months of medical/public safety dispatch experience or one year of high call volume experience required. Functions Area of Responsibilities Operate a multi-line telephone system, alerting system, and a radio base station. Ask questions to interpret, analyze and anticipate a caller's situation as to resolve problems, provide information, dispatch Security Officers, or refer callers to other areas departments as appropriate. Determine and assign the level of priority of a call and enter the data into a computer-aided dispatch system (Report Exec Dispatch Module) for radio dispatch purposes. Dispatch and help coordinate the responses of Security Officers under the direction of the On Duty Security Sergeant OIC. Receive and respond to or refer a variety of emergency and non-emergency services and complaints. Enter and modify bed status information in the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) 911 bed tracking system. Monitor and respond to a variety of technical systems and alarms. Prioritize radio traffic, instituting radio silence when one of the facilities is responding to a high risk emergency situation. Monitor cameras, reporting any unusual activity to the Shift Sergeant OIC and completing follow up documentation as required (e.g., statements to accompany case reports). Provide support for the Security Officers by monitoring of activities via radio and tracking their locations and duties. Maintain accurate dispatch records, departmental logs, and forms in Report Exec. Provide backup support to THS Switchboard Operators as required. Attend department meetings, in-service training, and other meetings as required. Maintain officer call logs to include officer dispatch time, location, request made and clear times. Log any follow up information received from officer. Initiate case reports for officers (e.g., fire, helicopter incoming and take-off, combative patient, emergency response events) and provide case report numbers. Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
