Job Purpose:The Security Guard is responsible for the safety of customers and coworkers alike in the retail dispensary setting. The role includes keeping an inquisitive eye by walking and monitoring the premises, communicating, and aiding customers/visitors, and acting as a physical deterrent to intruders. The goal of security guards in a cannabis business is to reduce the risk of potential theft or diversion. Beyond protection, security guards are important to a retail operation. If stationed in the dispensary's reception area, they can allow verify the identification of customers, visitors, patients, and caregivers and provide access to the retail area or direct them as necessary.Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provides a Safe and Secure Environment in the Cannabis Industry for Clients and their Customers.
- To remain calm in high-pressure situations while exhibiting patience and a superb attention to detail.
- Provide a Visible Deterrent to crime/criminal element.
- Uphold Company Values and remain vigilant in their duties.
- Be supportive, respectful, team oriented towards co-workers, be willing to work together to accomplish Company goals with positive outcomes.
- Remain open and positive to change as necessary to meet both Company and Customer requirements.
- Be able to work a weekend schedule.
- Be flexible in work availability and be willing to work overtime.
- Monitor entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Answer telephone calls, take messages, answer questions, and provide information.
- Protecting transport vehicle when delivering product to prevent theft and ensure safe delivery.
- Monitoring state of the art surveillance system.
- Entry screening and check-in process.
- Maintain visitor log and provide escort to visitors when required.
- Maintain activity log.
- Maintain a clean work area in the security office
- Other duties as assigned.
- Report irregular activities, such as property damage, theft, unauthorized personnel, disturbances, hazards, and suspicious activities to the Security Manager and/or local police when required.
Education & Qualifications
- At least two years of law enforcement/security firm experience
- At least 21 years of age with the ability to obtain and retain a Missouri Agent ID
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with security equipment and surveillance systems
- Clear and concise communication
Essential Duties and Functions
- Ability to lift over thirty pounds.
- Ability to reach/work above the shoulder.
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods of times.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $20.00 per hour base
