POSITION TITLE: Security Guard (Unarmed) High SchoolEXEMPTION STATUS: Non-exemptREPORTS TO: PrincipalTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 monthsPrimary PurposeUnder general supervision, provide security and protection for students, staff and visitors and prevents property loss due to theft or vandalism. Help ensure the physical security of the building and assist in notifying SRO/Law enforcement when appropriate.QualificationsEducation/CertificationHigh School Diploma or GEDValid Texas Driver's LicenseSpecial Knowledge/SkillsAbility to clearly and accurately record informationAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to work effectively with youths and adultsAbility to communicate effectively (verbally)ExperienceNoneMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Student ManagementPatrol assigned campus. Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking. Ensure the physical security of the building(s) (ie. Secure Doors) monitor bathrooms, respond to vape detector alerts, etc.Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to principal or assistant principal.Control traffic and parking on campus grounds during school hours and at afterhours events.Security and ParkingRegister student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration.Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.)Assist law enforcement personnel as needed.Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors.OtherPerforms other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Security/Asst.
