Vacancy Number: S-01149 Position Title: Security Monitor Classification Title: Security Monitor Department: Campus Police Employment Type: Full-Time Special Instructions to Applicants:

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Monitor and control access to University areas. Patrol buildings and grounds.

* Identify and investigate suspicious or hazardous situations.

* Report findings to supervisor and document incidents.

* Check monitoring systems and alert supervisor, staff, and students if danger is indicated.

* Issue parking citations to illegally parked vehicles in area.

* Provide assistance to faculty, staff, students, and public (e.g., unlock and open doors, provide directions, carry messages, deliver small packages and other small items, provide escort service, etc.).

* Assist in training security personnel.

* Respond to medical emergencies (e.g., perform CPR and/or First Aid; assist injured; assist medical, fire, or police personnel as necessary; etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Knowledge of security, traffic, and parking practices and procedures

* Knowledge of general AUM conduct rules

* Ability to operate emergency equipment

* Ability to identify suspicious or hazardous situations

* Ability to administer CPR and first aid

* Ability to recognize safety, security, or health hazards

* Ability to document observations

* Ability to communicate with faculty, staff, students, and the public

Minimum Qualifications:

Education equivalent to the completion of high school.
