Sign on Bonus up to $8,000Position Summary: Ensures that buildings and assets of The Guthrie Clinic are safe and secure for patients, employees, and visitors by routinely patrolling buildings and grounds and by responding to requests for assistance from building occupants. Work location will rotate between assets in the Ithaca and Cortland areas as requested. Applicants must be willing to submit to fingerprinting for a background check.Education, License, & Cert: NYS registration as security guard is required. Valid Drivers' License required. High School Diploma or equivalency required, further educational degree preferred. Must successfully obtain certification in CPR and de-escalation within 30 days of hire. Training will be provided by the employer.School Education: High School Grad or EquivalentExperience: One or more years' experience working in Security, Law Enforcement or Corrections. Must have experience in effectively interacting with people. Must possess excellent communications skills.Essential Functions:1. Trustworthy with safeguarding confidential information. Must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.2. May be required to work overtime hours and alter schedule from normal business hours based on organizational need3. Must act in a courteous and friendly manner toward patients, visitors and employees.4. Conducts interior and exterior rounds throughout and around clinic buildings, remaining vigilant for security or safety concerns. Makes self highly visible near the main entrance when not responding to calls for assistance or making rounds.5. Maintains good communication with building practice directors, managers and office supervisors.6. Completes detailed reports of incidents occurring during work shift.7. Completes all required safety & security training on an annual basis8. Exhibits initiative in performing all duties, regularly assists co-workers, consistently strives to be a productive member of the department and the organization.9. Consistently demonstrates good judgment and the ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and select appropriate course of action. Consults supervisor as appropriate.10. Maintains desired attendance level, arrives on time at start of scheduled shift and remains available throughout shift.11. Maintain NYS security guard license, CPI card, CPR certification and valid driver's license good standing.12. Other assignments as dictated by the security supervisor.13. Assists with overall facility safety, including fire drillsOther Duties:1.Travel for this position is sometimes required.2. Training in: Infection Control Procedure, Safety: Fire/Disaster; OSHA, Policies and Procedures; Departmental Administrative; Human Resources, Emergency Preparedness3. It is understood that this description is not intended to be all-inclusive and that other duties may be assigned as necessary in the performance of this position.Monday-Friday, majority days, with flexible evenings on occasions.The pay for this position ranges from $16.00-$22.37 per hour.
