JOB SUMMARYUnder the general guidance of the Security Manager, assist in providing security for patents, employees, visitors and physicians; protects hospital buildings, assets and premise as assigned. Adheres to applicable state laws, follows Hendrick Medical Center's Policy & Security written job guides approved by the department of Security.JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum Education* High School or equivalentMinimum Work Experience* 2 years relevant experience* The minimum age for Security Officer is 21 years of age by date of appointment.Required Licenses/Certifications* Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officers state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.* Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction (obtained within 6 months of employment)* A clear and active Texas Divers License* Maintain a clear police record* Ability to pass prescribed course(s) in weapon proficiencyRequired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities* Ability to deal effectively with community/consumers and hospital personnel.* Ability to handle confidential information.* Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.* Conduct basic investigations and interview others.* Operate security electronic equipment including CCTV and access control.* Handles emergency or crisis situations* Requires judgment or action that could potentially lead to the use of lethal force.Designated Driver* YesOSHA Category* 1 - High Risk
