Job DescriptionResponsible for protecting company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment. Provides security by positioning himself/herself within a building entrance, more specifically, at or near the front desk/check in area. Ensures that all employees and visitors are properly greeted and checked in. Answers questions and directs individuals to the proper locations throughout the facility. Notifies employees of arriving visitors and directs them to meet and escort their guests. Follows proper security protocols by obtaining and issuing proper identification of anyone entering the facility. Principal Accountabilities:1. Welcomes all visitors and employees entering the facility. Conducts security checks on all visitors and notifies employees of their arrival.2. Ensures all employees check in using their assigned company badge/security card. Assists employees who do not have or have lost their badge.3. Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities. 4. Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds. 5. Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency. 6. After business hours, may checks doors and windows, to ensure the property is secure. 7. Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property. 8. Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives. 9. Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.10. Performs other related duties as assigned.A Valid Driver's License with a Clean Record is Required.QualificationsLEVEL I - 0-3 years of prior experience - High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors' Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. All legally/reasonably expected certifications needed for function and level. Work assignments are straight-forward and of moderate complexity. Makes decisions regarding own work, approach, and priorities. Typically receives detailed instructions on work, approach and priorities. No leadership responsibility.LEVEL II - 3-5 years of prior experience - Associates/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. All legally/reasonably expected certifications needed for function and level. Work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action. Makes decisions regarding own work methods. Requires minimal direction. Seeks guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.LEVEL III - 5+ years of prior experience - Bachelors' Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. All legally/reasonably expected certifications needed for function and level. Regularly exercises independent judgement on matters of significance within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions/approaches. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components and completion of own tasks/responsibilities of substantial complexity. Work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. May model/mentor and teach staff within own function or family.LEVEL IV - HS Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors' Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. All legally/reasonably expected certifications needed for function and level. Leads complex projects/activities on regular basis. Determines daily priorities for work group; provides guidance/assists staff on non-routine/escalated issues. Requires little instruction on day to day work and general direction on more complex tasks and projects. Uniformed PSS officers are assigned posts and routinely patrol the facilities and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry. During their tours, officers visually examine doors, windows and gates to ensure they remain intact and secure. Each PSS team member is highly trained to maintain an atmosphere that is calming to patients and welcoming to their families while also being able to deescalate situations in which emotions run high. All officers are specially trained in response control tactics and techniques and are called to respond to occurrences of workplace violence and fire safety. The PSS team is trained and leads our first response to significant events such as (Code Lockdown & Active Shooter, Abducted Child, Building Evacuation, Bomb Threats, etc.). The PSS team controls card access privileges at each of the medical centers; officers are trained to confront all unauthorized persons and, when necessary, contact local law enforcement for assistance. Additionally, PSS has an Investigations Office, which conducts follow-up investigations for all significant cases (i.e., Suspicion of Drug Diversion, Allegations of Assault, Domestic Violence, Workplace Violence, etc.); and an Emergency Management Office, which is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and implementation of emergency management standards system-wide to facilitate a safe environment.
