Responsible for carrying out the program of the Medical Center by maintaining a safe, secure condition in and around the hospital buildings, and grounds and protection of patients, employees, visitors, and their property. Security Guard Position Requirements New Hires: Must complete 80 hours of training mandated by the Maryland State Police within one year of hire and be commissioned as a Special Police Officer in Maryland within one year of hire. Ongoing training: 12 hours of in-service mandated by Maryland State Police every 2 years before renewal of Maryland State Police. Education High School Graduate or G.E.D. Experience One-year prior experience in law enforcement, fire or security related job preferred. Must be able to successfully undergo a comprehensive background and character investigation. Valid driver s license and verification of insurability under Peninsula Regional Medical Center s automobile insurance plan. American Heart CPR certification.
