FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:
- To provide security in all levels of the casino operations.
MAJOR DUTIES:Monitor and patrol the parking lot of the gaming facility
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property
- Responsible for escorting money transfers to and from the vault, offices, blackjack tables, and the gaming machines on the floor and maintain security level to safeguard assets
- Observe all gaming activities and enforce rules and regulations
- Provide friendly customer service
- Assist Tribal Police as needed or requested

RequirementsFACTOR 1: KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THIS POSITION
- Basic working knowledge of computer operations.
- Working knowledge of intermediate mathematics.
- Basic working knowledge of information management systems as they relate to security.
- Working Knowledge of defensive tactic techniques and CPR, AED, and first aid.
- Basic knowledge of the most recent Microsoft desktop operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft XP Professional program.
- Knowledge of state of the art security methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of the latest techniques and methods of covert casino security.
FACTOR 2: SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
- Incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Security Shift Supervisor.
- Supervisor assigns work on information regarding the objectives, priorities and deadlines.
- Incumbent handles all work according to instructions and established policies and accepted practices.
- Completed tasks are reviewed to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with instructions and policies and regulations.
FACTOR 3: GUIDELINES
- Incumbent applies prescribed security and surveillance industrial standards and specifications as amended, employer standard operating procedures, in addition to handbook, policies and precedents.
- Guidelines include personal experience, Citizen Potawatomi Nation regulations and directives, manufacturer's catalogs, handbooks, precedents, and files of previous projects.
- The incumbent implements adaptations in dealing with problems and unusual situations always with the best interests of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and FireLake Entertainment Center in mind.
FACTOR 4: COMPLEXITY
- As the level of difficulty increases, the incumbent contacts the supervisor to determine the course of action to be taken.
- The level of complexity will vary from routinely mild to extremely intensive and complex circumstances on an occasional basis.
- The incumbent is rarely required to depart from past approaches.
- FACTOR 5: SCOPE AND EFFECT
- The purpose of the work is to provide professional security services and the implementation of the security systems in order to protect life, limb, property and assets of patrons and Firelake Entertainment Center.
- This work affects the quality of the experience of the guests and staff throughout the property.
FACTOR 6: PERSONAL CONTACTS
- The range of contacts include ordinary citizens who come to enjoy the amenities offered by the property, to international dignitaries in addition to those dignitaries
- who represent the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, National Indian Gaming Commission, Federal and State Government and other Native American Tribes.
FACTOR 7: PURPOSE OF CONTACTS
- The purpose of the contacts is to provide and exchange information and data. The contacts may also include dealing with people who are angry, skeptical, uncooperative, unreceptive, or hostile.
FACTOR 8: PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe position requires prolonged and irregular hours on a routine basis. Some bending, stooping, climbing and walking. Some lifting and carrying of heavy objects (45 lbs. or over). Long periods of standing with moderate walking. The capability of performing hands on defensive tactic training.FACTOR 9: WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The physical surroundings includes an inside office setting in addition to outside work during hot and cold weather.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- Must have High School Diploma/GED.
- One to Three years' experience as a Security Officer.
- Experience in Casino, Surveillance, Security and/or Loss prevention preferred.
- Must have very good communication and written skills and have the ability to follow verbal and written directions and instructions
- Ability to operate various computer software applications and DVR equipment.
- Ability to work any shifts, start time, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have or be able to obtain Potawatomi Nation Certification as a Security Officer.
