SummaryEnforces and maintains security measures and rules for the protection of all organizational facilities, material and personnel within areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft or intentional destruction. Operates communication console and surveillance equipment in Security Operations Center. Dispatches activities of emergency response personnel.Duties and Responsibilities* Under direct supervision performs assigned tasks from detailed instructions, established policies and procedures.* Provides security protection for all organizational facilities, material and personnel within areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft or intentional destruction.* Provides security protection by utilizing and monitoring the organization's building automation system, electronic surveillance systems and other monitoring devices.* Identifies, initiates and coordinates appropriate response/notification based on console indications or event(s) and according to security guidelines.* Provides first point of contact for situations involving off-site facilities, emergency responders and medical services.* Assists in the handling of emergency situations, including employee injuries.* Keeps accurate record of events and occurrences based on security guidelines.* Perform escort duties as appropriate.Prevent/report all violations of security and safety rules and regulations.* Respond to protective alarm signals or other unusual/suspicious activities.* Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all security orders (special, general, post) pertaining to assigned duties as well as working knowledge of applicable federal/state laws.* Protects the organization's physical assets by maintaining and safeguarding the physical perimeter, exterior, and interior perimeters of the facility.* Patrols and protects the facilities by foot and/or vehicle to detect or prevent illegal/unauthorized activities.* Enforce access control to personnel and vehicular traffic entering and exiting the complex.* Maintains and updates visitor logs, commercial deliveries and outside contractors entering and exiting the facility.* Ability to and willingness to perform shift work.You Must Have* High school diploma or GED equivalent.* Must meet DOE medical and physical fitness standards and comply with all applicable legal statutes.* Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)* United States Citizenship* Must maintain a valid state driver's license.* Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time.* Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.We Value* At least one year of security or public safety related work experience* Must be able to perform duties wearing personal protective equipment.* Must maintain a valid state driver's license.* Knowledge of security systems, devices, and building automation systems in a corporate environment preferred.* Must have basic reading and writing ability.Additional Information* JOB ID: 2092* Remote Eligibility: On-Site* Travel Required: 0-10%* Hourly/Salary: Salary* Relocation Available: Yes
