JOB SUMMARY: A Texas Rangers Armed Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all Texas Rangers Baseball Club property, employees, tenants and guests. An Armed Security Officer must be flexible with work hours, as the job is a 24-hour a day operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:- Preventive patrols of the Ballpark facility as directed to prevent or minimize property loss, property damage, personal injury, auto accidents or situations having a negative impact on the organization.
- Observe for signs of criminal disorder and investigate disturbances according to company policy.
- Monitor points of access in buildings and property to allow entry only to individuals with the correct identification or authorization.
- Monitor and authorize entrance through issuance of visitor's badge or check of credentials of employees, guests and others to ensure the safety and security of the facility.
- Unlock and secure doors before and after events as directed.
- Operate security vehicles including golf carts for patrol and respond to calls/incidents.
- Conduct proper investigation and inquiries into all incidents, accidents, security issues, and situations impacting the facility or Organization's interest, employees, partners, tenants and guests to include but not limited to damages, losses, safety matters or injury.
- Responsible for monitoring security/alarm systems, working communications equipment and reporting any issues with the facility systems during assigned shifts.
- Respond to fire and medical emergency situations.
- In emergency situations, provide assistance, first aid and alert first responders.
- Interact with tenants, employees, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Escort employees handling cash or visitors into designated areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to perform one or more of the following activities in an eight hour shift: walk, stand, climb stairs/ladder, ride a bicycle, turn a pressurized water valve (fire system), bend over to lock/unlock doors.
- Position requires the officer to carry a weapon.
- Certified or ability to be certified in first aid, CPR and AED training.
- Must have eyesight correctable to 20/20.
- Must not suffer from dichromatic color blindness.
- Must be able to pass State required training/testing and able to be registered with The Texas Private Security Bureau as a commissioned officer.
- Must project a professional imagine and customer- friendly service atmosphere.
- Effective computer/report writing and verbal/written communications skills.
- Excellent public relations skills.
- Good driving record.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a team and independent environment.
- Possess good sound judgement, be objective, be dependable, be in control of emotions, be customer service oriented, be a person of integrity and be professional while carrying out duties.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold and rain.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work additional hours to cover event operations.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and physical.
