As a Security Officer at Printemps NYC, you will play a critical role in protecting our customers, employees, and merchandise.
You will ensure the safety and security of our store, assist in mitigating shrinkage risks, and support the resolution of theft incidents. You will also be an integral part of the store's Emergency Response Team, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from various emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Theft Prevention & Resolution:
- Conduct quality apprehensions in high-shrinkage areas, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Identify theft trends and implement appropriate action plans, using technology, reporting, and surveillance systems to mitigate theft.
- Investigate theft incidents, gathering evidence, and collaborating with leadership and investigation teams to resolve cases.
Safety & Emergency Response:
- Maintain a safe environment for customers and employees by responding to security and emergency incidents, including medical emergencies, and escalating when necessary.
- Actively participate in emergency response training, including First Aid, as a member of the store Emergency Response Team.
- Support security audits and provide feedback on the effectiveness of store security measures and shrinkage prevention protocols.
Asset Protection & Loss Prevention:
- Protect store assets (building and merchandise) by ensuring a secure environment and implementing merchandise protection standards.
- Foster a shrinkage reduction culture by supporting training programs, educating employees on security practices, and promoting awareness.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on all high-profile incidents, merchandise recoveries, safety incidents, and policy violations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Build strong partnerships with store leadership, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement to enhance store security and support investigations.
- Act as a liaison with local authorities when necessary and testify in court for criminal and/or civil cases related to store incidents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; security training or certifications.
- Previous experience in retail security / hospitality.
- Strong understanding of loss prevention, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to maintain composure and use good judgment in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with store leadership and local authorities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
