Most of all, we strive for a culture where our employees view us as one of the best places to work.POSITION TITLE: Security OfficerPOSITION STATUS: Full Time Non-Exempt (Hourly)POSITION RANGE OF PAY: $17.32 per hour + $1.50 night shift differentialJob Description:The Security Officer is responsible for performing security duties under the guidance of the Director of Security, Security Manager, Security Supervisor, Team Lead and FTO with the goals of ensuring the protection of property against theft or vandalism; safeguarding of employees and other persons located on Copperstate property and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all fellow officers. Core Responsibilities:Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results through adaptability, integrity, initiative, accountability, and communication
  • Perform notifications in accordance with applicable General Orders/SOPs
  • Secure premise and personnel by patrolling property; monitor surveillance equipment; inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure security of locks and chains; permit entry via gate post duties
  • Report and communicate to management and emergency responders in an effective manner when needed/required
  • Know all emergency procedures that are in place for evacuation plans, fire emergencies, or threats to the facility or personnel
  • Assist with company safety programs, inspections, and procedures
  • Know the location of the first aid kits, panic buttons, fire extinguishers, AED, and know how to use each
  • Communicate with fellow security guards when performing post duties (every 30 minutes) and when changing posts
  • Be courteous, pleasant, and professional to all staff, visitors, and contractors
  • Ensure no entry for uninvited guests while assuming Gate post duties
  • Know the departments forms for everyday use and complete reports / Post Log entries by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  • Attend all required meetings, training sessions and daily shift change briefings
  • Effectively use the proper chain of command for issues that may arise
  • Co-operate with others to reach department goals and objectives
  • Conduct order fulfillment count as dictated and required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to get a facility agent card
  • Previous security, military, or police experience preferred
  • Must have effective legible written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, in writing, information that explains who, what, where, when, and why and how an event happened
  • Must be able to learn quickly and log personnel in and out effectively with focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Must know, comprehend, and understand that adaptability, accountability, initiative, integrity, and communication are vital to the success of the security leadership team as a whole, and to the Security department and its team members
