This job will be training in North Bend, OR and result in full time work in Medford, OR. You will be required to have your own reliable transportation for this unique situation.The primary function of this position is to promote a safe and secure environment for the Mill Casino Hotel & RVP, its guests, and employees. This position also observes and ensures that overall operations conform to casino policies and procedures. In addition to being responsible for the same duties as any other Security Officer, this position is also responsible for the overall performance of personnel assigned to their shift in the absence or availability of the Security Manager and the Assistant Security Manager. This person must possess management and leadership skills. This person must be a team player and must possess and demonstrate the attitude necessary to set an example to subordinates.PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:* Promote a clean, safe, healthy, and friendly environment for employees and guests.* Report safety issues and hazards to the Security Manager or Assistant Security Manager.* Supervise the Security shift in the absence or availability of the Security Manager and Assistant Security Manager.* Provide training to Security Officers in accordance with the Security Department Training Program* Document training deficiencies of Security Officers for review by Security Manager or Assistant Security Manager* Provide guest and employee escorts to and from the casino when requested or as needed to ensure their safety and protection.* Provide escorts for large sums of money and chips in the casino to ensure the security of transfer.* Ensure compliance of casino policy and report policy infractions to immediate supervisors.* Provide patrols of all casino and surrounding company property i.e., CEDCO building & Tribal offices.* Provide and assist with monitoring patrols of all casino property.* Conduct and/or assist with machine and table drops.* Maintains a working knowledge of those guests and/or employees who have been banned from re-entering the property, and advises appropriate individuals and departments when observing trespassers on property.* Accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the age of twenty-one, to ensure compliance with applicable gaming regulations.* Observe and report any suspicious activity or drug use to supervisors.* Observe and use proper chain of command.* Respond and/or assist with medical emergencies.* Maintain daily activity reports and head counts.* Other duties as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and, years of experience):* Must be 21 years of age.* Must be High School Graduate or have a GED.* Must have a current valid Oregon Driver's License.* Candidates with one year of previous public safety, casino security, military or other related experience preferred.* Candidates with a background in customer service or previous experience in the hospitality industry desired.* The ability to speak effectively and persuasively to a diverse customer and employee base and follow verbal instructions.* Excellent written communication and observation skills including the ability to write reports and correspondence with accurate spelling and grammar.* The ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, policies and procedures and instructions.* Must maintain OLCC certification.* EMR certification or ability to obtain EMR certification within 1 year of hire.* Computer skills must include Microsoft Word, Office, and Windows applications and also ability to learn iTrak database.* Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
