Job DescriptionJob Description:Protects and safeguards patients, staff, other persons, assets and facilities within Essentia Health. Responsibilities include patrolling the healthcare environment to deter criminal activity, identify hazards, prevent incidents and safety accidents, detect and detain perpetrators and mitigate losses from the impact of incidents. Responding to emergencies, alarms, disasters, and threatening situations with violent, dangerous or combative persons are also primary job responsibilities. Will enforce medical campus rules and takes action to maintain order and prevent disruption or interference with medical center operations.Education Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

• Associates degree in law enforcement, criminology, or equivalent OR 5 years' experience in Healthcare Security

• Completion of training and competency in operation of Essentia Health Security and Emergency Preparedness Programs within 3 months of hire

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of progressively responsible security experience with demonstrated leadership experience.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Background Clearance under MN Statute 326.22

Valid driver's license

Completion of Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officers from the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (required within 1 year of hire) and renewal not required
