Under the direction of the Manager of Corporate Security, the Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator is responsible for protecting company assets by monitoring cameras and alarms, dispatching associated calls via telephone, operating access control technology, and providing general assistance to both team members and guests. The SOC operator supports all Swickard Auto Group locations, corporate office, and appropriate field venues as they prepare for, respond to, and recover from both crisis and non-crisis incidents. What Winning Looks Like:
  • Responsible for answering routine and emergency calls, monitoring alarms and video equipment (including video alarms, door alarms, and duress alarms), providing general security related assistance to team members, vendors, and guests.
  • Responds to life safety incidents (fires, injuries, accidents, robberies, intrusion alarms, bomb, and other threats) and dispatches police, fire, and EMS personnel as required via telephone and/or mass communication systems.
  • Analyzes situations promptly and accurately; quickly adopts prompt, effective, and reasonable courses of action with due regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances.
  • Monitors locations for unusual signs and/or activity and speaks to local dealership management to assure that everything is in order.
  • Identifies locations and times where incidents or criminal activities may have occurred.
  • Interacts with law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Manage and handle situations of a sensitive nature and maintain company's confidentiality and information security practices (personnel issues, investigations, public relations incidents, emergency personnel contact information, etc.).
  • Conducts surveillance operations and intelligence gathering as needed.
  • Monitors various social media tools to assist in identifying threats and/or risks to the organization.
  • Complete written reports in compliance with departmental procedures and makes oral reports as needed. Must have the ability to write detailed, concise, and accurate reports.
  • Uses quality customer service-oriented skills, communications, and techniques to interact formally and informally with community groups, team members, and guests of all backgrounds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed to Win:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • SOC experience with knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, and Social Media Monitoring tools preferred.
  • Understanding and troubleshooting capabilities for CCTV, Physical Access Control, and various platforms utilized by the organization.
  • The ability to conduct related threat analysis and intelligence operations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask are required.
  • Must understand and comply with all company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write intelligently in the English language. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • The primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Incumbents may be required to be on-call and work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing surveillance video, working at a computer terminal, expansive reading and visual inspection of team members, visitors, or facility.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
