About this role: The position is responsible for management of back-office Trade and Custody Processing teams for sensitive clients. Also responsible for managing several large initiatives including onboarding investment managers and preparation for industry-wide initiatives. About this team: Team is responsible for processing trades on a monthly basis with daily settlements. The team is responsible for direct communication with clients. What you will be doing:
  • Responsible for the oversight of daily trade processing functions to ensure all authorized trades are posted and settled timely according to industry guidelines.
  • Ensure all trade discrepancies and trade fails are researched and acted upon in a timely manner.
  • Deliver an operations environment that meets or exceeds all service level agreements.
  • Develops and recommends tactical and strategic plans for processing improvements within the operations.
  • Selects, trains, develops and leads an efficient, effective and engaged processing team.
  • Assures that departmental staffing resources are well trained and cross-trained to provide maximum resource management and deployment.
  • Develops, implements, documents and tracks departmental processing and accuracy standards.
  • Maintains accurate and current departmental procedures.
  • Develops and executes project plans, tracking and implementation schedules for departmental initiatives.
  • Implements department checklists and managing oversight processes adequate to assure that daily processing standards are being met or exceeded.
  • Mentor staff to grow in their abilities by conducting routine department meetings, employee one on one's and on the spot coaching.
  • Escalate any issues pertaining to departmental operations in a timely and effective manner.
  • Effectively manage critical vendor relationships.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Coursework in investments/financial markets a plus. What you bring:
  • 10+ years' experience in securities operations/trade custody
  • 10+ years' experience with managing direct reports.
  • Experience working with mutual funds and mutual fund managers.
  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally
  • Broad understanding of the financial and strategic aspects of the business and participates in and/or establishes initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the enterprise
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Viewed as an expert resource by peers and coworkers, maintains a good working relationship with both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead by example and motivate professional level staff
  • Displays strong leadership qualities, decision making abilities, and strong business judgment
  • Possesses strong personnel management skills
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team building, negotiation, conflict management and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
FIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION Senior management role. Excellent knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills. Assists in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect immediate client operations and may have a broader impact to the business unit or division. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Responsible for managing relationships and teams across multiple product lines. Serves as an escalation point for client issues. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations without damaging the relationship. Authority for hire, fire, performance appraisal, and pay review decisions. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels within the enterprise and/or client organizations. Manages teams who deliver services to one or more strategic clients. Has wide latitude for decision making. Typically requires at least ten years related industry experience with two or more years leadership responsibility. FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $136,190.00 - $228,790.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
