Job Description:
As a Security Service Technician, the candidate is responsible for installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned security projects including small to large projects that vary in complexity. You will also deliver assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules. You will also act as key interface for technical support with the customer and maximizes customer satisfaction. You will need to show you have experience troubleshooting electromechanical issues, using a volt/ohm meter, understanding circuits/relays/ and so on. Those are integral parts of access control and alarms. If you have a solid electronic background and understand how to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical devices and components, picking up access control and alarms is much easier as you will be servicing many different electronic security systems, automation systems, fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control and other low voltage systems.Your primary focus is troubleshooting and fixing security devices that are already installed and completing preventative maintenance inspections, but occasional install work does occur. These systems all network together so hands on software experience is beneficial for this.They need someone with strong communications and customer service skills as you will be working directly with clients and you will need to act as the customer's best service provider at all times thereby ensuring you are the customers first choice for service. You will need to identify and resolve problems for most types of service calls including emergency calls. You will also:- Analyze repair requirements and provide the customer with appropriate solutions- Complete necessary repairs and replacements as needed- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining resultsIt may require originality and ingenuity in some situations. You will also need to complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and the company in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking. You will need to present a professional image at all times, in appearance and behavior, and seek opportunities to promote the services offered by the company. You must show you are a self-starter and work well with little supervision.They have multiple openings in Sioux Falls SD, and in Rapid City SD. Overnight travel can happen to time to time. You will go to customer sites, sometimes local, sometimes a few hours away. You will normally be home every night but at times, if you are stuck on a job or travel more than a few hours, you may need to stay overnight. You will receive a company vehicle and all the tools you need. There is some overtime, based on the job and the distance.Training will be 4-6 weeks in a classroom, on line and in the field training with an experienced technician. Once this is completed you start working out of the Bismarck area with remote support when needed but they really want someone who can figure out things on their own (Google it or check vendor website).Base salary, $65K - $75K, with some occasional overtime. A company take home vehicle is provided, the company pays for gas, maintenance, insurance, cell phone, uniforms, company credit card. $85/month cell phone reimbursement.
