GENERAL PURPOSE The Retail Security Specialist will assist with training, maintaining and enforcing loss prevention and security procedures in retail locations to safeguard MillerKnoll assets. They will assist with the monitoring of all retail locations to ensure protection of our stores, associates and customers from security threats. They will maintain pertinent retail security related databases used by MillerKnoll Global Security. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Follows up on daily retail security related items and works with various members of the Global Security Team to resolve. Monitors retail locations for weather, events and potential threats and communicates those to the necessary teams for support. Monitors security systems at retail locations and works with the Physical Security Systems Team for reporting anomalies, etc. Assists with internal investigations of problems such as employee theft and violations of corporate retail security procedures. Develop s and maintain s partnerships with F ederal, S tate, or l ocal law enforcement agencies as well as members of the retail loss prevention community. Completes audits at retail locations on a regular basis. Compiles detailed written reporting around audits/store visit findings. Coaches and/or trains associates on retail security / loss prevention procedures and best practices. Becomes familiar with the retail facilities and occupants in their geographic area including, but not limited to, retail and retail operations associates, emergency systems and procedures, and physical security systems. Coordinates with outside vendors or security partners reference work orders and other requests for service at retail locations. Coordinates with outside security partners for security officer detail requests at retail locations. Maintains and manages retail security databases and other pertinent information used by MillerKnoll Global Security. Prioritizes workload based upon urgency. Identifies and recommends solutions for process improvement. Performs additional requirements as situations dictate in support of achieving business objectives. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience Degree in Criminal Justice or related field; or equivalent education and experience. Two years or more of experience in retail loss prevention, security or law enforcement, preferred. Knowledge of Retail Operations preferred Willingness and ability to travel Skills and Abilities Must be detail oriented. Strong customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong decision and problem-solving skills Systemic thinking along with strong computer and software skills required. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in time critical situations. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, respond to changing priorities and accomplish the goals. Knowledge of retail operations and loss prevention strategies and procedures. Possess knowledge or background with security technologies. Business literacy, including an excellent understanding of corporate facilities, assets, and people. High level of integrity, respect, and trust. Must be capable of presenting a professional demeanor and appearance in all manner of situations and conditions. Valid driver's license, good driving record and a reliable means of transportation is required. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
