Job Summary: The Security Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of security systems, including Access Control, Video Management, Intrusion Detection, and Intercom Systems. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure their security needs are met through the effective implementation and support of advanced security technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in security system installation and troubleshooting, as well as strong technical and customer service skills.
Local travel to locations in the DC/MD/VA area. Company cell phone, laptop and gas stipend provided.Desired candidates will have experience with one or more of the following: Lenel, Milestone, RS2, DSX, Brivo, Pelco, Exacq Vision, Interlogix, Bosch, DMP or Aiphone.Responsibilities:
- System Installation:
- Install and configure Access Control, Video Management, Intrusion Detection, and Intercom Systems.
- Run cabling and wiring for new installations and ensure proper connectivity and integration.
- Mount and align security cameras, sensors, and other hardware components.
- System Servicing and Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of installed security systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions and issues.
- Update and upgrade system software and firmware as needed.
- Customer Support and Training:
- Provide technical support and assistance to clients during and after installation.
- Conduct user training sessions to ensure clients are proficient in using their security systems.
- Respond promptly to service calls and client inquiries.
- System Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Test and verify the functionality of installed systems to ensure they meet specifications and client requirements.
- Perform system diagnostics and generate detailed reports on system performance and issues.
- Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of installations, services, and repairs.
- Document system configurations and settings for future reference.
- Prepare detailed service reports and submit them to the Security Systems Manager.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their security needs and provide solutions.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on system performance and client satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in security technologies and best practices.
- Participate in training and certification programs to enhance technical skills.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the overall efficiency of the team.
