This position is part of a well-established team that focuses on seed production for corn, wheat and other projects to meet the quality, quantity and timeline targets for project deliverables. The successful candidate will have a strong customer service focus with the ability to manage complex data management systems and a proven quality and safety focus.Candidate should have a positive, collaborative attitude, good communication and critical thinking skills, and a knack for creative problem solving.This position involves supervising Research Associate/Assistants and coordinating activities with other groups and teams. Responsibilities - What You'll Do:
  • Provide leadership and support for day-to-day IMPACT Field Administration activities including collaboration with GSO support resources, Data management, tracking of shipments, and support safety training/coordination. Work collaboratively with field team to meet the quality, quantity, and timeline targets for project deliverables.Includes leading all spring warehouse activities such as field mapping, allocations, inventory tracking, seed treating, staging, shipment tracking, and other administrative activities associated with planting.Provide training and support for all IMPACT Administrative needs.
  • Work with Field team to schedule and coordinate training for spring and summer field activities and safety.Ensure training are timely, effective and completed by all individuals participating in field activities.
  • Manage station warehouses and processing activities including spring warehouse, discard seed disposal, inventory management, warehouse supplies and maintenance and processing equipment maintenance/support for IMPACT Testing Seed.
  • Work with IMPACT stakeholders and location team members to maintain project quality requirements, management of process/inventory documentation needs and processing schedules.
  • Promote positive work attitude.
  • Supervise full-time employees and contingent workers, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with protocols and Corteva policies.
  • Support Hermiston R&D Station-wide goals and projects as needed.
  • Lead Corteva Management System (CMS) quality management activities including SOP development/review, DIRT, No Seed Left Behind, Document Control, and Equipment verification/calibration.
  • Lead and take an active role in warehouse maintenance activities including PLC, processing line operations, station setup and upkeep in all warehouse areas.
  • Provide support for location servers, security, and data management systems.
  • Provide significant support for safety activities.Will lead key location safety standards and provide leadership for CMS Committee.
  • Learn and utilize Research data management systems for setting up and supporting CPPD, Parent Characterization, Wheat, Canola, Soybeans and other research projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, process management or closely related is preferred.
  • Four years or more of production agriculture/warehouse or process management related experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn proprietary software tools.
  • Ability to operate forklift and agricultural equipment.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification with seed treating endorsement
  • People management experience. Ability to teach, coach and form good relationships with employees and cooperators.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, strategic analysis, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with experiment planning and data collection procedures.
  • Willing and able to work flexible schedules, weekends during peak periods when required.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger, culturally diverse group, as well as independently when needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong background with administrative activities including data management, process development, scheduling, prioritizing workload, and customer service.
  • Organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and lift repetitively. Occasionally required to carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Tolerance, willingness, and ability to work in adverse environments.
  • Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and ability to obtain CDL (if needed).
