The Seed Quality Lab Technician will work closely with the Seed Quality Lab Manager to perform tasks for the seed quality lab focusing on germination, purity and trait verification.As a member of the Beck's Family of employees, all full-time employees are eligible for a generous benefits package:

Responsibilities
- Perform the following in the Seed Quality Lab as needed:
- Subsampling seed for lab tests.
- Independently follow instructions to prepare lab test media, including but not limited to sand/soil mixing and sifting, tray preparation, and herbicide bioassay towel preparation.
- Independently follow instructions to complete germination, vigor, purity, and herbicide bioassay testing.
- Interpreting lab results from each test and recording each result.
- Data entry of test results into the lab data management system.
- Maintaining and cleaning of work areas
- Assist with other duties as required by the Seed Quality Lab Manager.
Job Requirements1. Education and training:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in related fields and/or Seed Lab experience, preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck's automobile insurance policy
2. Technical knowledge:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Possesses a positive attitude.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and work as a team member.
- Possess a high-level attention to detail, organized, and be able to consistently deliver timely and accurate results.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
3. Experience:
- Experience in a seed testing lab is preferred, but not required.
4. Physical Demands:
- Be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
