Seeking Talented Manufacturing Project Engineer!

A local, top-performing, and fast-paced manufacturer with a family-like atmosphere is looking for a motivated and technically proficient Manufacturing Project Engineer to join a dynamic team. As a Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving company growth and success by leveraging engineering expertise to develop and manufacture specialized products for potential and existing customers.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Summary

The Manufacturing Project Engineer manages manufacturing projects, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating, and process improvement. This role provides technical expertise to support and improve manufacturing productivity and cost efficiency while driving projects to completion with innovation and attention to detail.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develops comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Uses effective project management strategies to utilize technical and administrative resources efficiently.
  • Selects and manages contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for engineering and construction activities.
  • Collaborates with leadership and internal stakeholders, such as purchasing, estimating, customer service, and shop teams, to complete design projects.
  • Oversees bidding processes, negotiates contracts, and ensures adherence to project specifications.
  • Monitors project expenses to stay within budget while maintaining quality.
  • Enforces strict compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts research on new materials, equipment, and processes to optimize manufacturing.
  • Organizes and maintains engineering records for both existing and new projects.
  • Documents the design process and prepares detailed drawings.
  • Explores alternative approaches to improve product performance or address changing customer needs.
  • Evaluates design soundness based on configuration, manufacturability, and functionality.
  • Works with suppliers to resolve engineering-related issues, such as material specifications.
  • Analyzes supplier processes and products for feasibility and improvement.
  • Completes additional tasks and duties as assigned.

Manufacturing Project Engineer Qualifications

  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mold fabrication processes and familiarity with plastics products and applications.
  • Brings 5–7 years of progressive project engineering experience.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or similar modeling software, material flow, and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Shows strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
  • Handles multidisciplinary projects effectively.
  • Excels in project management, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Applies analytical skills and sound judgment.
  • Motivates themselves and others to achieve success.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
