DescriptionThis is a research assistant position that involves working with Dr Zhan Zhang in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems on a research project aimed at designing and developing an artificial intelligence powered clinical decision support tool for emergency care providers. This project is funded by the NSF and the National Institutes of Health. You will work within an interdisciplinary team comprising experts from both Pace University and other institutions, including the University of Colorado and Oklahoma State University, who have expertise in Human Computer Interaction, AI, Machine Learning and Emergency Medicine.In this role you will use an iterative, user centered approach focused on participatory design and usability testing to design and evaluate various prototypes of the application.Requirements
- UG student in CS, IT, IS, Pyschology or a similar area
- Highly experienced in User Research and Design
- Highly experienced with Qualitative Data Analysis
- Highly experienced with Prototyping Software -(i.e. Figma)
- Highly experienced with Participatory Design and Usability Evaluation
- Ability to learn as you work
- Persistence in solving problems and resolving issues
- Ability to document and report research findings
- Effective communication skills
- Empathy and social skills
- Willing to travel to hospitals in both NYC and Colorado for data collection and research purposes (travel expenses will be covered).
