JOB DESCRIPTION - DALLAS TRAILER REPAIR CO.TRAILER TECHNICIANApply on Indeed or /careers/Job SummaryThis position is responsible for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on all trailers and related equipment. To succeed in this role, one should have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic's tools, service, and diagnostic equipment, as well as strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and customer service skills, and be able to work independently or as a team member.Mechanic ResponsibilitiesInspect, analyze, and diagnose trailers and related equipment for mechanical issues, faulty and replacement parts.Perform requested repairs according to industry standards.Perform routine maintenance on trailers and related equipment.Perform trailer body work and under-carriage work (e.g. air bag replacement, cross-members, dolly legs, tandem system).Problem solve and document an action plan for all repairs and follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs.Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace, including regularly cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices.Ability to work independently, as well as support coworkers, able to work as part of a team and work well with co-workers.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge-Based RequirementsASE certifications highly desired but not required.1-2 years of mechanical or equivalent experience.Able to pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test to determine probability of job success and mechanical classification.Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills.Must be able to read and write in English, as required for documentation of diagnosis and solutions.Must have own tools plus Safety Glasses, Steel-toed shoes, and Hearing Protection.Able to pass a 10-year background check.Physical Demands/AbilitiesHeavy Work- Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including other job-related items.Walking/Standing for sustained periods of time.Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using entire body.Stooping/Crouching - Bending body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs, and spine.Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling.Kneeling/Crawling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s) or moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.Whole Hand/Fingers - Picking, pinching, typing with fingers and grasping with the fingers and palm.Repetitive Motion - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary.Hearing - Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels with or without correction.Vision - Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, inspecting small parts and/or operating machines and power tools.Work Environment: Work is performed in a shop; both indoors and outdoors. Activities occur inside and outside and are subject to work environments that are not climate controlled, weather, and hot/cold temperature changes, dirt, dust, soot, and possibly mold, loud noise, and ladders to use for high heights. Potential hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions (e.g. fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases), or poor ventilation, or a workspace may be exposed to smoke residue, mold and mildew, contaminated water, or other unsanitary conditions, as well as being in closed quarters/confined spaces (e.g. crawl spaces, small, enclosed rooms, attics, etc.).This is not an all-inclusive list of every job duty affiliated with the TRAILER TECHNICIAN position and Dallas Trailer Repair Co reserves the right to assign additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.#J-18808-Ljbffr
