Lead Cyber Security SOC AnalystLocation: Hybrid - onsite in Madison, WI 1-3 days/weekStart Date: 1/6/25Duration: 6+ months - long term contract anticipatedProcess: 2 video callsOverview: Our client is a mid-size electric/gas utility provider with operations in multiple Midwest states. Senior Cyber Security Analyst will join the client's SOC team in a lead position, supporting daily security operations in a variety of different areas and serving as a mentor to junior security analysts. As this is a highly regulated industry, familiarity with government and/or industry regulations will be beneficial, particularly CIP.Responsibilities: Respond to security alerts and other security incidents; regular data and event logging in SIEM tools; conducting security case management; evaluate security events and develop response plans; conduct cyber security investigations on networks, applications, suspect files and endpoints; able to lead a security response team.As a senior position, this individual is expected to interact with multiple levels of internal colleagues from senior leadership to associate level end users.Key Skills:8+ years of cybersecurity / SOC experienceSplunk or similar SIEM toolsTanium, Symantec, or other Endpoint protection toolsPalo Alto FirewallsOne or more security certs (CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, GAIC)Bonus Skills:Familiarity with regulatory standards, particularly CIP & NERC is highly desired#LI-DO1#INDTS
