This includes prospecting, identifying needs, delivering presentations, defining solutions, drafting proposals, and managing and growing our relationships with both prospects and existing customers in the re/insurance industry for an assigned North American territory.

You should be intellectually curious and able to learn the key scientific tenants and statistics that underpin our probabilistic models, as well as the software applications on which to access the models, and understand how to help our clients by familiarizing yourself with their business needs. You must be energetic, innovative, and have a strong focus on delivering exceptional value for customers. You know how to identify decision makers, influencers, and blockers thereby navigating a complex enterprise sales cycle to successfully grow your account base and annual revenue under management.

You will be part of a Boston-based sales team for Verisk Extreme Event Solutions (EES). Verisk EES (formerly AIR Worldwide) provides catastrophe risk modeling solutions that make individuals, businesses, and society more resilient. We founded the catastrophe modeling industry in 1987, and today model the risk from natural catastrophes, terrorism and pandemics globally. Insurance, reinsurance, financial, corporate, and government clients rely on Verisk's advanced science, software, and consulting services for catastrophe risk management, insurance-linked securities and agricultural risk management.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Effectively prospect, identify, and drive sales opportunities through a typically complex enterprise sales cycle, from first contact to closure
  • Use your personable nature to build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
  • Leverage your superior communication skills to develop & deliver proposals and presentations for prospects and customers
  • Experience and success with juggling multiple transactions simultaneously and comfort in negotiating multi-year contracts
  • Comfortable talking to a wide range of decision influencers and can coordinate and secure buy-in from internal stakeholders and motivators
  • Must have prior success calling on company executives in a highly competitive marketplace
  • Set quarterly and yearly goals for each of the accounts under your management, keeping track of activities within our CRM system
  • Travel to select re/insurance companies and represent Verisk at industry conferences in North America (10-20% of the time)
