Description:Position Summary:Assist the Manager of Financial Reporting by ensuring the consolidated financial statements are compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Partner with external auditors to ensure schedules are accurate and delivered timely. Review significant contracts and accounting transactions for appropriate accounting treatment. Perform technical accounting research and draft Corporate Position Memos to document accounting positions. Document controls environment.Responsibilities: Provide support for completion of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages. Prepare audit schedules and various analyses and review other similar data prepared by the finance team. Research and document applicable accounting treatment for certain business transactions. Perform various compliance-related projects such as census reports. Attend quarterly cross-functional meetings to identify/discuss accounting implications Review select account reconciliations prepared by others in Finance to ensure accounts are reconciled properly and in accordance with IFRS. Analyze and reconcile certain balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, as necessary. Document existing controls environment and design/implement new controls where necessary. Identify and implement process improvements. Review contracts, identify potential accounting implications, research accounting treatment if necessary, and communicate findings to necessary cross functional departments timely. Assist with ad-hoc requests both internally and externally. Prepare cash flow and compile related documentation. Review support prepared by other departments for financial reporting pack and work cross functionally to ensure the schedules provided align with the consolidated parent company reporting. Assist with the preparation of financial statements, which includes related support, flux analyses, and summary schedules for leadership.Working Relationships:Interact with the entire Finance organization on a routine basis and various departments throughout the organization. Work with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate resolution of audit requests. Communication skills, both written and verbal, are critical.Requirements:Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in AccountingPreferred Education: Master's Degree in Accounting or MBAMinimum Experience: 2-3 years public accountingPreferred Experience: 2-3 years of public accounting experience at a Big Four firm with retail and/or real estate exposure and 1-2 years industry experience, preferably working in financial reportingLicenses/Certifications: CPA preferred. Candidates would be considered if currently in process to get certified.Soft Skills: Technical accounting abilities Effective Communication (verbal and oral) in order to clearly communicate and present unusual and/or complex concepts or issues in a convincing manner across all levels of management Passion for detail and meeting deadlines Flexibility and ability to pivot between competing priorities Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel Experience with Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion a plus Strong organizational skills to include effective time management in all key responsibilities of the jobTravel: No travel required.Hours & Conditions: The position requires reporting to the office three times per week with an option for a hybrid work schedule for two days per week from a home office. The hybrid work flexibility is up to department managers discretion and requires LST approval.Physical Requirements: Minimal physical effort required, sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
