Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the Financial Reporting team and will be responsible for financial reporting and certain other corporate accounting processes at the company. This includes period-end close activities, account reconciliations, and assistance withad hoc reporting. This position requires extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will partner frequently with personnel at all levels within the Company.

Responsibilities

* Assists with the preparation and filing of SEC financial reports, including quarterly reports, annual reports, current reports, and other SEC reports as needed.

* Prepares and maintains supporting documentation related to financial statement disclosures.

* Assists the Financial Reporting Team in quarter-end close activities which may include areas such as statement of cash flows, statement of equity.

* Assists with review of the quarterly earnings release and other investor relations documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

* Reviews eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging for documents to be filed.

* Assists with the preparation for the financial reporting processes and coordination of the external audit relationship as it relates to the consolidated financial statements.

* Assists in technical accounting research, evaluation and interpretation of accounting pronouncements and SEC regulations, as well as qualitative and qualitative analysis thereof.

* Assists in the preparation of documentation in form of policy or guidance memos interpreting/communicating technical accounting research.

* Ensures key control activities are properly carried-out for responsible areas.

* Performs ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.

Skills and Experience Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

* 2-4 years' experience in public accounting or with a commercial real estate company.

* Experience with partnership taxation (Form 1065, Form 1120).

* Strong analytical skills.

* Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

* Solid leadership and organizational skills with superior attention to detail.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work alongside a wide array of employees.

* Self-driven with proven ability to work independently.

* Demonstrate integrity and honesty and model ethical behavior and core values of the company.

* Ability to flex and adapt work schedule to changing business demands.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

* CPA or CPA candidate preferred

* Experience with REITs

* Knowledge of Yardi accounting software and/or Vista by Viewpoint Construction Software

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work inside an office environment and is required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, and reach with hands and arms.
