What makes HABC successful is the dedication of its employees and its history of strong leadership.Position SummaryUnder general supervision, maintains HABCo Division's accounting functions related to HABC accounting systems. Provides support services to the Director/Assistant Director by supplying necessary financial information so that project specific costs may be periodically reconciled. Prepares other related documents to complete budgets (departmental, project specific, etc.), monitors division payroll, and verifies that all receiver and vendor accounts are processed. Responsible for preparing job related documentation for the HABco Division Director's signature. Establishes tracking systems and utilizes said system to monitor office/field capital equipment, petty cash, office accounts and etc.Major Duties
- Reconciles and analyzes all active projects between Quick Books and Great Plains to ensure accuracy with the Income and Expense statements. Maintains accounting functions related to HABC accounting (Great Plains) and necessary Hard files to ensure proper standard accounting procedures.
- Provides support services to Director/Assistant Director by supplying necessary financial Information so project specific costs may be periodically reconciled.
- Prepares other related documents to prepare budgets (departmental, project specific, etc.). Reconciles and analyzes division budget and prepares a report to be submitted to the Assistant Director and a copy for the Director of HABCo monthly.
- Prepares job related documentation for HABCo Division Director's signature.
- Establishes a tracking system and utilizes said system to monitor office/field capital equipment, petty cash, office accounts, etc.
- Responsible for monitoring/processing all HABCo/Step-Up Program payroll. Receives verified cost coded employee timesheets, logs In Information and reconciles payroll system and union fringe benefits.
- Coordinates all correspondence with payroll processor regarding labor accounts and reconciles labor accounts monthly to HABC Income and Expense statements.
- Downloads (ADP) Union Labor Benefits Reports. Prepares and submits request for payment of HABC obligations regarding Union
- Maintains a reporting system for specific monthly cost reports. Coordinates with HABC's Fiscal Department to Insure that payable information ls coordinated between departments.
- Monitors timely payments to vendors and coordinates with HABC Accounting to resolve any outstanding payment issues.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Minimum Education, Training and/or ExperienceBachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in accounting. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or auditing some experience with construction draws preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient.Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid Maryland driver's license.
- Must be able to be covered under the Authority's fidelity bond.
- Must be able to be covered under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
Other Requirements
- You must successfully pass a prescreening investigation, including employment and education verification.
- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position. Upon employment, you will be required to serve a 6-month probationary period.
- All new employees are required to receive at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot in a two-shot series or be fully vaccinated prior to the date of hire.
