As a Senior Accountant at Robert Half MRFTEP, your role will encompass a broad range of accounting activities. Here are some of the main tasks and responsibilities you will be required to undertake:
1. Financial Reporting & Documentation: You'll spearhead the preparation and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements. This includes summarizing the company's financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all reporting and documentation aligns with federal, state, and local regulations, including legal requirements, preparing necessary paperwork, and submitting reports. Be up-to-date with the latest accounting policies and procedures.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating annual and quarterly budgets. Model forecasting scenarios as required.
4. Auditing: Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary financial data and assisting in the implementation of audit recommendations.
5. Reconciliation: Conduct bank reconciliation and manage general ledger accounts.
6. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
7. Tax Preparation: Assist in tax preparation duties, analyze tax laws, and advise management on tax liabilities.
8. Team Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with the rest of the finance team, management, and other departments. As a senior role, you may also be required to provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior staff members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a senior accountant (5+ years preferred).
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Certification such as CPA is a plus.
