Job Title: Senior Accountant

Salary Range: $80,000-95,000

About the Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing various accounting functions, including preparing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting the monthly and year-end closing processes, and assisting in audits and variance analysis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Prepare and record timely, accurate general ledger entries, including adjustments and accruals.

Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with organizational policies and GAAP.

Support monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports, variance analyses, and budget-to-actual comparisons.

Assist in preparing audit schedules and support both internal and external audit processes.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and contribute to process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies, provide financial insights, and support decision-making.

Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Promote and uphold safe work practices through awareness, training, and reporting of potential hazards.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress towards a CPA is a plus.

3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP.

Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools; experience with D365 and Solver is a plus.

Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Prior experience in nonprofit accounting is preferred but not required.

Physical Abilities:

Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time.

Occasionally required to lift and carry files or documents weighing up to 10 pounds.

Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing.

Visual acuity to review detailed financial documents and computer screens.

Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, such as typing and using a mouse.

Maintain reliable attendance and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Analytical skill, problem-solving, organizing, categorizing, and analyzing data.

Strong attention to detail, prioritization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

Work Environment: This role primarily operates in a professional office environment with moderate noise level.
