Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Senior Accountant to join the firm as part of our Accounting team. Tackle these responsibilities alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate to achieve outstanding results. Responsibilities
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Review the general ledger to validate coding for journal entries, invoices, expense report and check requests in accordance with company policy and GAAP rules and regulations.
- Perform and oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or issues that require resolution.
- Maintain and update fixed asset database, add and dispose of new fixed assets, verify accurate depreciation methods are being used, run and post depreciation and develop process to review and dispose of assets on a regular basis
- Manage the accounting for leases in accordance with ASC 842, including proper recognition and disclosure of lease-related transactions.
- Review and post payroll journal entries and reconcile journal entries to payroll registers on a per pay period basis ensuring accuracy and looking for errors and omissions in payroll processing.
- Prepare various surveys as required by government or other regulatory entities and various industry publications as requested by management.
- Support various treasury related activities including disbursements, risk management, and cashflow forecasting.
- Collaborate with the IT department to assist in the maintenance and updates of the ERP system to ensure accurate financial data processing.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure proper documentation and financial accuracy of financial transactions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives related to accounting and financial reporting
- Produce and create various financial reports through the ERP system working with the Financial Reporting Manager in pulling information for management reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred but not required
- 5+ years of accounting experience, or 3 years public accounting experience.
- Knowledge and experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Deltek VantagePoint experience a plus but not required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
