And we have the confidence and determination to become the most sought-after adhesive solutions partner.Come join us!The Role:We are seeking a Senior Accountant who is a self-motivated, confident, problem solver with a history of being a dedicated employee and great team player.This person will focus on supporting the Controller in APPLIED's accounting activities including month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis and will ensure that accounting principles are followed. You must live in the Twin Cities, MN. area to be considered for this position.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post general ledger adjustments and month-end closing journal entries (accordance with generally accepted accounting principles).
  • Prepare and maintain account analysis and account reconciliations on an ongoing basis.
  • Operating Department Financial Reporting responsibility includes addressing any management questions/concerns on operational results.
  • Help support M&A activity which includes purchase accounting, integration, journal entries and reconciliations between acquisition books (subledger) and APPLIED's consolidated books.
  • Back up for cash application when needed.
  • Calculation and Reporting of Thermal Product Group Division Commissions.
  • Take lead on maintaining and managing company's fixed assets from an accounting perspective including our fixed asset system (Asset4000).
  • Sales Tax filings for assigned states.
  • Heavily support and help manage the annual financial audit process.
  • Support implementation of financial systems, including upgrades and training.
  • Provide business partnering support for the Marketing team.
  • Capital spends reporting.
  • Participate in various ad hoc accounting projects and requests, as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in accounting is required.
  • An understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and intermediate to advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving and math skills are required.
  • CPA and/or CMA is preferred.
  • Ability to work with others including customers, suppliers, and employees of the organization is required.
  • Prior experience with Month-End Close and internal financial reporting is required.
